Annecy enjoys a truly special European location at the footsteps of the French Alps! Visiting this area during any season is blissful thanks to its sunny summer weather and abundance of snow in winter. During your journey, you will find the “Château d’Annecy”, an impressive castle built in the 12th century which stands proudly in the centre of the Old Town, and the “Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard”, perched on the shores of the Lac d’Annecy.

Discover the canals in the historic town, the grand Basilique de la Visitation, with its unique entrance and incredible stained glass. The Palais de l’Ile (banner image, above) is possibly the prettiest prison in the world! All of which help make Annecy so picturesque!

From a cultural point of view, Annecy is also an incredibly dynamic city, which hosts lots of different types of events. If you have the chance to spend some time there during the summer, you should not miss the fantastic firework shows, or the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
