Junior Italian Summer Course in Trieste, Italy.
(12-17 years old)Teens have the chance to learn Italian in the wonderful city of Trieste in our Junior Italian Summer Course. Our school is in the heart of the historic city, with plenty to see and do to enrich your studies surrounded by the remaining ancient relics of Trieste. The city has all the charm a coastal city could hope to have as it looks off to the Adriatic Sea, with Miramare Castle standing watch from its perch over the waves. The city centre is also highly pedestrianised, making it safer for a young student to roam and explore during the cultural activities. As far as study destinations go, Trieste is a top-tier choice for juniors to experience the wealth of history and beauty Italy holds while learning Italian along the way.
The summer Italian course is composed of 20 lessons per week with each lesson lasting 45 minutes. The Italian lessons are divided into two main components: grammar and conversation. Students will learn the fundamentals of the Italian language to build a solid foundation — expanding their vocabularies, improving spelling and focusing on creating good habits in their study techniques. Additionally, students will learn how to effectively communicate in Italian with their peers and in everyday situations to better their listening and speaking skills. Students will work on proper pronunciation and improve comprehension to gain confidence in their ability to communicate in Italian. Class sizes are small, with an average of 6 students per class and a maximum of 12 students.
This course is available to students of all levels - from complete beginners to those with higher proficiency.
Trieste is a beautiful port city in the north-east of Italy which mixes modernity and antiquity gracefully. The city has an extensive history — under Roman control from the 2nd century BC until the collapse of the Roman Empire. Trieste hosts a section of its former Roman walls — the Arco di Riccardo, thought to have been constructed during the time of the original wall back in 33 BC. Another relic sure to inspire curiosity is the Roman theatre of Trieste which was built near the end of the 1st century BC and later expanded in the early 2nd century AD. Formerly used to hold crowds of up to 6000 people, the remaining sections now sit between two modern city streets. Between the history and the phenomenal sunny seaside views, Trieste is a showstopping location for a young student’s Italian summer course. Our school is situated right in the heart of Old Town Trieste - sitting near the Castello di San Giusto just off from the pier. On campus there is a canteen, a self-study space, a playroom, a garden and more!
